With eight different rooms available we suit many different needs and can seat from 6 to 180 persons. We can provide tea, coffee, biscuits and other refreshments as well as a variety of excellent buffets and also have a fully licensed bar.

Hold your extra special day at our extra special location. With unique stained glass windows and spiral stone staircase the Mechanics Centre is the ideal venue for your wedding or naming ceremony, birthday, anniversary party or any other celebration.
Located in Manchester city centre (near to the corner of Portland Street and Princess Street) with convenient transport links for bus, train or the Metro travellers and numerous car parks for visitors arriving by car.
Historic Grade II* listed building
The Mechanics Institute is best known as the birthplace of the British Trades Union Congress (TUC) which was founded in the building in 1868 and is also the birthplace of the Co-operative Insurance Society and UMIST.
